exasperation could be worse

OK, never being of a mind to actually do anything particularly defined and forthright is one thing, but being buggered around from breakfast to bedtime does grate on the nerves somewhat. What am I blithering on about? Work, that's what. First they say hey want us to standby till daylight (I'm good at that, I thought, I will follow that one to he letter. Next thing, I'm being chivvied (and I don't take to chivviers very well, enthusers and motivators I can deal with, but chivviers just rankle).
Someone in their wisdom has decided to ignore the agreed procedure (which involved waiting till daylight before proceeding) and start testing conditions and situational suitability for work (can you believe it?).
Needless to say it all came to a grinding halt when the old man stepped in and called an all stop, but not before I had been chivvied, which paints a mood on the rest of your day.
So, waiting for the weather to improve STILL.

Goings on

Well, despite the weather, we have managed to achieve....... er, nothing. Because of the weather we are unable to even peek over the side with the mighty 150HP machine, that is poised ready for action (with newly painted hand rails and stuff, a result of much days weather watch).
Running out of things to do and desperately wishing we could get the yellow bricks wet, we have resorted to cleaning out the workshop and making things look really swish (Lord help the rest of the crew when we have naught else to do but contrive practical jokes).
All the oil has been cleaned and labelled, the decks are now non slipped and the old rusty handrails are in a state of repair not seen since the system was commissioned. what more can we do (no doubt someone has plans that require our efforts but as to what where and how we are, blissfully, ignorant. (A state that suits us, in any case).
